SEE OUR VEHICLES FOR SALE
From Our Sales Desk
Every business is different.
An electrician buying their first work van has very different finance needs to a plumbing company purchasing five new vehicles for a growing fleet.
That's why we don't believe in one-size-fits-all finance. Our job is to help you choose the right commercial vehicle, then introduce you to Acquired Financial Services so they can recommend a finance solution that suits your business structure and cash flow.
Which Finance Structure Might Suit Your Business?
Different finance products suit different business structures and circumstances. Click through to learn more about each option.
Chattel Mortgage
Own the vehicle from day one. Popular with GST-registered businesses. Depending on the business structure, vehicle use and current tax rules, a chattel mortgage may provide potential GST, interest and depreciation treatment. Customers should obtain advice from their registered accountant.
Learn more →Finance Lease
Drive now. Purchase later if you choose. Often suitable for fleet operators wanting flexibility. Lease payments may be deductible where the relevant tax requirements are met. Speak with your accountant about your circumstances. Residual at end of term.
Learn more →Commercial Hire Purchase
A traditional business finance product. You use the vehicle throughout the agreement and take ownership once all payments have been completed. Repayment and ownership arrangements should be reviewed with your accountant and finance broker before proceeding.
Learn more →Low Doc Finance
Designed for self-employed applicants who may not have standard payslips or complete financial statements. Alternative documentation options may be available through eligible lenders.

💡 Business Tip
The cheapest finance option isn't always the best business decision.
A slightly higher repayment on a newer, more reliable commercial vehicle can often reduce maintenance costs and minimise expensive downtime. Speak with your accountant and Acquired Financial Services before deciding on the most appropriate finance structure for your business.
Buying Personally vs Buying Through a Business
The finance product and tax treatment can differ significantly depending on whether you're purchasing as an individual or through a business entity.
Tax outcomes vary depending on your circumstances. Progressive Vans does not provide tax or financial advice. We recommend speaking with your accountant and Acquired Financial Services before deciding on the most appropriate finance structure for your business.
The Progressive Vans Vehicle Buying Service
Progressive Vans is not limited to the vehicles currently in our yard. We have access to a large and constantly changing dealer and wholesale vehicle network, allowing us to help source vans, utes, light trucks and multiple fleet vehicles that meet your requirements.
If you have already found a suitable vehicle at another dealership or through a private seller, speak with us before committing. Where suitable, we may be able to purchase the vehicle on your behalf, inspect it through our workshop, complete servicing or repairs, arrange a roadworthy and registration requirements, then incorporate the prepared vehicle into the finance transaction arranged through Acquired Financial Services.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I finance more than one commercial vehicle? +
Yes. Fleet and multi-vehicle finance may be available, subject to the lender assessing the business's capacity and overall exposure. Speak with Acquired Financial Services to discuss fleet finance options.
Can I finance a used work vehicle? +
Yes. Finance is available for used commercial vehicles, subject to lender requirements regarding the vehicle's age, kilometres, condition and purchase price. Progressive Vans stocks a range of workshop-tested used commercial vehicles.
Can sole traders apply? +
Yes. Finance options may be available to sole traders, subject to lender assessment. ABN history, income and credit profile will all be considered. Low doc options may be available where standard documentation is unavailable.
Can new businesses apply? +
Some lenders consider newer businesses and recent ABN holders. Approval depends on the lender, applicant, vehicle, credit profile and supporting information provided. Speak with Acquired Financial Services about your specific circumstances.
Can I claim GST on a business vehicle purchase? +
GST treatment depends on your business structure, GST registration, vehicle use and the finance product chosen. Progressive Vans does not provide tax advice. Speak with your registered accountant before relying on any potential GST credit or tax treatment.
Should I choose a balloon payment? +
A balloon reduces your regular repayments but leaves a lump sum due at the end of the term. Whether a balloon suits your business depends on your cash flow, vehicle replacement plans and the lender's requirements. Discuss this with your accountant and Acquired Financial Services.
Can I finance vehicles from another dealer? +
Yes. Depending on the circumstances and lender requirements, finance may be available for vehicles purchased from other dealers or privately. Progressive Vans may also be able to assist with inspections and workshop preparation as part of our Vehicle Buying Service.
Can Progressive Vans purchase a vehicle from a private seller for me? +
In some situations, yes. Progressive Vans has previously purchased vehicles from private sellers on behalf of approved customers. We can assess the vehicle, coordinate the purchase, complete required servicing or repairs, arrange roadworthy and registration preparation, and then work with Acquired Financial Services to complete the finance transaction. Each purchase is assessed individually and remains subject to seller cooperation, vehicle suitability and lender approval.
